FEBRUARY GIGS
On Friday 27th February at 8.30pm the Leyton
Star in London E15 is the venue
when John is supported by frequent collaborator Diego Brown and
the Good Fairy, courtesy of Lost Horizons.
MARCH GIGS
On Friday 20th March at 8.00pm Oakland
Village Swadlincote in South Derbyshire is the
venue for New and Selected Potatoes. Part of the Swadlincote
Festival of Words.
The following day at 12.00pm in Sharpe's Pottery
Museum the said Festival presents John's workshop Writing, Drawing and
Drawing Out The Creative. For the over-sixteens
with a focus on Fishes, Cats and Gratitude.
On Sunday 22nd March at 3.30pm (doors
2.30pm) you can tuck into New and Selected Potatoes at the OSO
Arts Centre in Barnes London SW13 0LF. Note that
you'll need to enter the promotion code POTATOES when you book.
On Wednesday 25th March at 8.30pm The
Flying Duck in Glasgow's Renfield Street is the
venue for New and Selected Potatoes. Part of the Glasgow
International Comedy Festival.
On Friday 27th March at 7.30pm John is appearing at
the Underground Comedy Club in the Sessions Bar in Castle Street Swansea,
along with Gareth Berry, Noel Janes, Onkar Singh Purewal and local
poet Millie Thomson. Entry is free but there will be a bucket
collection.
APRIL GIGS
On Saturday 4th April at 2.00pm New and
Selected Potatoes are on the menu at Bath's Old
Theatre Royal. Part of the Bath Comedy Festival.
On Thursday 9th April at 7.30pm WORD! Cabaret heads
to the Attenborough
Centre in Leicester. John has a half hour slot
and the rest of the evening is an hour of open mic contributions.
Tickets PWYC but £10 recommended.
On Thursday 16th April at 7.00pm it's
the turn of The Lakeland Taproom in Burwash East
Sussex to host John's spuddy selection.
On Friday 24th April starting at 6.00pm New
and Selected Potatoes moves on
to Morpeth Library in Northumberland.
And the following day at the same venue at 10.30am
there's John's Writing, Drawing & Drawing out the
Creative Workshop.
On Thursday 30th April at 7.30pm Luton's
Hat Factory Arts Centre is the place to head for
your helping of NASP.
LATER GIGS
Stamford Theatre in Lincolnshire is the setting for
The Further Adventures of Monsieur
Robinet at 2.00pm on Saturday 2nd May. Part of
Stamford Verse Festival.
On Saturday 23rd May at 7.30pm there's a change of
foodstuffs as Biscuit of Destiny is unpacked at
Sheffield's Samuel Worth Chapel.
John is at Margate's Rosslyn Court on Thursday 25th
June at 7.30pm. "A small, seated, friendly,
quirky, listening venue with a heart."
And a heads up for this year's Edinburgh Festival
Fringe in August - John is scheduled to revisit the delightful Ukrainian Community Centre,
details to follow.
PODCASTS
'We'd Like a Word' podcast at Milton's
Cottage Chalfont St Giles: John was accompanied
by poet and musician Clare Elstow, followed by a Q&A session
hosted by presenter Paul Waters. Co-host Stevyn Colgan posted
some video from the event on his Colganology YouTube channel.
John is also the subject of a podcast entitled Wide-Eyed
Creation: Crafting Your World, From Page to Stage with John
Hegley, part of the Extraordinary Creatives series by Ceri
Hand (opens in Facebook). John
reflects on finding inspiration in everyday objects, overcoming
challenges of fame, and the importance of mental well-being.
